Born in Vitr\u00e9 in the region of Ille-et-Vilaine (France) in 1918, Baron-Renouard follows in the footsteps of his grandfather Charles Paul Renouard<\/strong>. He obtains his diploma from the National Superior School of Decorative Arts. Among his professors are former pupils of his grandfather, such as Legueult<\/strong>, Brianchon<\/strong> and Desnoyer<\/strong>…<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon his return from the war, he exhibited for the first time at the Under 30s exhibition from 1946 to 1947. A figurative artist at this time, he collaborates with the review ACE<\/strong><\/em> (Art, Culture, Economy), Revue Occident<\/strong><\/em> with Cassandre and Revue de la Danse<\/strong><\/em>, of which he is one of the founders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the age of thirty, the young artist wins the City of Venice Prize in 1948 and is invited by the Foundation of the Ch\u00e2teau de Lourmarin<\/strong><\/em>. The writings of the painter tend towards an increasingly liberal expression, impregnated with aerial perceptions from his time as a pilot during the war. The monographic texts written on his work evoke this incident. His study trips (Italy, Spain from 1949 to 1959, Japan from 1960 to 1985), the memories of his birthplace, French Brittany, and his frequent travels feed his imagination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Based on a perfect mastery of the profession, the work of Baron-Renouard has a strong expression, both poetic and musical, an invitation on an imaginary journey through time and space. In 1961 he is invited to the Charpentier Gallery<\/strong> <\/em>(School of Paris) and in 1967, in Montreal, to a prestigious international exhibition at the French Pavilion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From 1951 he participates in the Young Artists Exhibition then at New Realities<\/em>, Old and Young of Tod<\/em>ay, the May Exhibition<\/em>, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the Autumn Exhibition<\/em>, he is President of the painting section for several years. He is also honorary member of the Nika Exhibition<\/em> in Tokyo. From the sixties, Baron-Renouard continues his journey in the field of monumental art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Stained glass windows, mosaics and tapestries enter his creative repertoire. He completes many bespoke pieces. From 1978 he regularly exhibits his tapestries with ARELIS<\/strong><\/em> in San Francisco, Berlin, Chicago, Brussels, Washington and in France, notably at the Great Palace and UNESCO<\/a> House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Baron-Renouard frequents Veira Da Silva<\/strong>, Sonia<\/strong> Delaunay<\/strong>, Eddy Legrand<\/strong>, Roger Chastel<\/strong>, Manessier<\/strong>, Poliakoff<\/strong>, G\u00e9rard Schneider<\/strong>, Singier<\/strong>, Togo<\/a><\/strong>, Jacques Villon<\/strong> but also Henri Bosco<\/strong>, Albert Camus<\/strong>, Ionesco<\/strong>. He is asked by Andr\u00e9 Malraux to organise the sixtieth anniversary of Fauvism, in Tokyo in 1965.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During his missions for the French Committee of Plastic Arts at UNESCO (New York-1963, Tokyo-1966, Varna-1973, Baghdad-1974, Moscow-1975-1976, Sofia-1977, Stuttgart-1979, Helsinki-1983, Budapest-1986, Madrid-1989, Mexico-1995) Baron-Renouard meets many of his contemporaries across the world with whom he works for the material and moral defence of artists… something which allows him to organise many exchanges and to build friendships.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
